We are a free public charter school and as such, do not have any tuition costs for families. 

Please note: Before you can be accepted you must do all of the following-

• Complete the enrollment packet here. (Click "Apply\Enroll in the K-7 distance program" option.)
• Attend an information tour at one of our locations (sign up for a tour here)
• Submit copies of birth certificates and immunization records to Carla Deuel at Carla.deuel@davinciacademy.org)

Ask your Curriculum Specialist if it meets our policy, which is 80% standards coverage or more. NOTE: If this has not been previously researched, it may take up to 1 month to approve.

We require all curriculum to meet at least 80% of standards.

Our school individualizes this program to fit your student's needs. You can move through levels as fast as you would like. When your student is nearing the end of one level, let your curriculum specialist know and they will order you the next one.

We try to make this process as simple and quick as possible for our families:

• Parent Teacher conferences are 3 times a year to go over curriculum progress and assessment results. Assessments vary by grade level and will be covered in the parent onboarding process once you enroll.

No, you do not submit calendars or logs of everything you do. We are here to support each child individually. We assure progress is being made through the process outlined above. We know that goals sometimes have to be changed to accommodate specific needs that arise. We ask that you stay in regular contact with your teacher so that they can help you troubleshoot challenges as they arise and be aware of your student's progression.

We believe in having full transparency with our families about our on-site classes.

• Elementary: We are working to get full scope and sequences posted on our website for each teacher\subject that is taught. In the mean time, please feel free to reach out to your student's teachers to discuss specifics of what they are teaching. They are always willing to share and discuss any concerns you might have.

We get grants for a lot of our field trips or are able to go at a very discounted rate. Many are free (or severely discounted) for enrolled students. There is usually a small cost, particularly for non-enrolled siblings and parents. 

The entire immediate family is invited. Unless noted on the specific field trip, extended family such as grandparents or cousins are not allowed to come. 

Lunch is typically split into K-3 and 4-7, depending on location. Parent's pack their child's lunch from home. (Ogden location does serve lunch if parents would like to use that option they can pay our office manager in the front office.) 

School lunch is offered at our Ogden location only, The cost is $2.60 per day and can be paid with cash or check at the office. You can also pay online here. 

We are happy to make individual accommodations for specific children's needs. That may include a half day if necessary, however, most students enjoy our hands-on, activity based approach so much that they want to come more not less! Speak with your site manager if you have any concerns.

Davinci Day is where we cover all of the grade level science and social studies standards; therefore, we strongly recommend that students attend this day. As always we consider a family's specific needs in all situations. Speak to your site manager if you have any concerns. ​​​​​​​

Specials Day is optional for K-6 but required for grade 7. This is where have hands-on labs for science and elective classes.

The application process for the coming school year will begin in January each year.

All non-consumable materials (teacher manuals and manipulatives) need to be returned when you are finished using them. Consumable items such as students manuals, etc. do not have to be returned. (Rule of thumb: If it has a Davinci barcode on the back, then it must be returned.) 

Families are required to do Math and Language Arts (reading, phonics, writing, grammar, spelling, and handwriting) at home. 

Yes, we provide laptops for each student that requests one. 

A lottery process is necessary when filed applications exceed the available admission openings. A waiting list will be generated by the lottery process, which is where completed student registration packets have been randomly drawn and assigned a numeric number based on the random drawing.  Random drawings occur on an as needed basis to ensure that all students wishing to enter DaVinci Academy have an opportunity to do so.  This waiting list is effective for the current school year only and will be re-generated yearly or on an as need basis.  

Yes, we fill spots as soon as someone drops. Spots open and are filled all school year long.

Once one child in a family is accepted the rest of the siblings get priority treatments. We cannot guarantee when all siblings will get spots as it varies from grade to grade with how much space there is, but we do enroll all year long and will do our best to find spots for all family members as quickly as possible. 

No, community partners must be contracted with DaVinci Academy to offer elective classes to our students. This process starts about 6 months prior to the beginning of each new school year. If you have a business you'd like to see our school contract with for next year have them fill out the form on our outsourcing page and return it to Preslee Cash at preslee.cash@davinciacademy.org.

Yes, we have a full IEP department. If your student is coming from another school and has an IEP or 504 it will be transferred with them. If you suspect that your child has any struggles that might make learning difficult, speak with your site manager and they will walk you through the process to see if they might qualify for services.
